The Mansion Theater confirmed the cause of death of actor Dmitry Podnozov.

Cancer caused the death of actor Dmitry Podnozov. The administrator of the Mansion Theater announced this on July 21 in an interview with Izvestia.

"Dmitry was ill for a long time," said the interviewee.

Dmitry Podnozov's death was announced on the same day by the press service of the Mansion. The actor was 64 years old.

His colleagues remembered him as a man for whom compromise in cinema was impossible.

Podnozov was born on December 17, 1961 in Leningrad, graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. His filmography includes more than 200 projects, including "Secrets of the Investigation", "Spiritless 2", "Major", "Chernobyl", "Combination", "Karamora", "Icebreaker".

In December 2025, he was diagnosed with lung cancer with brain metastases, and funds were being raised for treatment. The actor is survived by his wife Alisa Oleynik and 27-year-old son Vladimir. The date and time of the farewell will be announced later.
