Mikhail Yefremov will play his first film role after his release from prison

Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Yefremov will play a film role for the first time after his parole from prison. The painting "Father. Another father" was presented on July 21 during the pitching of the Cinema Foundation at the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The director will be Alexander Barshak. He has worked on projects such as "Christmas Trees, Needles," "Little Red Riding Hood," "Pilgrim," and others. The budget of the new film will be 130 million rubles. The genre of the film is defined as "folk dramedy", the running time will be 90-100 minutes.

In the story, a teacher from the capital arrives in Yelets to stage a disastrous performance at a local theater. The artistic director of the institution turns out to be the father of the main character, whom he had never seen before.

"This is not a sentimental story, it's a very true, lively [story], in some places it's an absurd film about how important it is to be a man, a man, a father, not only for your child, but also for yourself," Barshak said, broadcast on the website of the Cinema Foundation.

Danila Kozlovsky will play the role of the teacher, and Efremov will play his father. The cast also includes Adam Kumaev, Anya Chipovskaya, Ivan Zamotaev, Pavel Derevyanko and Irina Bezrukova.

At the presentation, the creators of the project also noted that the painting corresponds to several state priorities in the field of culture, including family values.

On February 13, Yefremov took to the stage for the first time after his release from prison. The actor played in the pre-premiere screening of the play "Without Witnesses" on the stage of the Workshop 12 theater. The first viewers of the production "for moms and dads" were relatives and friends of the artists, as well as representatives of the press.

Later, on March 26, director Nikita Mikhalkov expressed gratitude at a meeting of the Council for Culture to Russian President Vladimir Putin for Yefremov's return to creative activity after his release from prison. The director also appealed to the Russian leader with an invitation to visit the new production, in which Efremov is involved.
