FT reported on Trump's preparation of a new package of duties for dozens of countries

US President Donald Trump is ready to impose duties on goods from dozens of countries as early as this week. This was reported on July 21 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.

The authors of the material remind that on July 24, the deadline for the previous duties in the amount of 10%, which the head of the White House imposed on the whole world, expires.

The Trump administration is preparing duties comparable to previous ones, but it is also considering the possibility of increasing them in a number of individual cases, the newspaper claims.

Earlier, on July 20, the White House announced that Trump had imposed 50% duties on a number of Canadian goods in response to discrimination against American exports by Canada. The new restrictions apply to almost 300 categories of Canadian products, including smartphones, communications equipment, cement, plastics, textiles, furniture, sports equipment, as well as a wide range of alcoholic and dairy products.
