Journalist Sholokhov will be buried on July 26 at the Smolensky Cemetery in St. Petersburg.

The funeral of Russian journalist and TV presenter Sergei Sholokhov will be held in St. Petersburg on July 26. This was announced on July 21 by his stepson, musician and showman Vsevolod Moskvin.

"The farewell and funeral will be held at Smolensky Cemetery in St. Petersburg on July 26," he told TASS.

The journalist died on July 18 at the age of 67.

Sholokhov was born on September 27, 1958 in Leningrad. In 1986, he completed full-time postgraduate studies at the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. He became famous for his work in the Leningrad television program "The Fifth Wheel", and later for the author's program "Quiet House".

He is a laureate of the Golden Pen 96 press competition in the "Journalist of the Year" nomination, an academician of the Nika Film Academy. In 2023, he was awarded the special prize "Pen and Sword" of the national Figaro Prize.
