According to the results of the first half of 2026, the T7 crossover of the Russian brand Tenet, which has been produced at the Kaluga plant since last year, became the best-selling car in the SUV segment in Russia. This was reported on July 21 by the analytical agency Autostat.

Sales of Tenet T7 for six months amounted to 36.5 thousand copies. Haval Jolion is in second place with a gap of 1 thousand units, the Lada Niva Travel SUV took the third place (21.4 thousand units). Tenet T4 (18.3 thousand units) and Lada Niva Legend (16.1 thousand units) rounded out the top five. The top 10 also includes Haval M6, Geely Monjaro, Changan Uni-S, Mazda CX-5 and Haval F7.

Only two models had lower sales volumes compared to the level of the first half of 2025: Changan Uni—S (-14.9%) and Haval F7 (-2.2%). Sales of the Mazda CX-5 increased the most on a low basis (by 12.3 times), and this model accounts for over 90% of all new cars sold in the Russian Federation.

In just six months, 450,4 thousand new crossovers and SUVs were sold in Russia. The SUV segment in the country accounts for almost three quarters (74%) of the new passenger car market.

Earlier that day, it was reported that the full-cycle production of the Tenet A8 sedan had started at the AGR holding plant in St. Petersburg. Now models of three domestic brands are being produced at the site in St. Petersburg.
