The CEC reported on the online training of bloggers to attack the elections to the State Duma

Western structures are preparing information attacks on the upcoming State Duma elections, including organizing online training for bloggers and using digital platform algorithms to distribute politicized content. This was announced on July 21 by Igor Borisov, a member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation.

"It also [uses] a system of recommendations specifically designed to promote individual bloggers and attract attention <...> due to the politicization and scandalousness of the situation they will issue. In other words, online studies have been organized," he said at a meeting of the Federation Council commission for the protection of state sovereignty and the prevention of interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation.

Borisov noted that the Russian electoral system has information about the preparation of such campaigns. He stressed that the methods of influence include support for the radical opposition, attempts to question the legitimacy of the elections in advance, as well as the use of new digital tools to spread disinformation and manipulate public opinion.

The CEC member added that the safety of participants in the electoral process remains one of the key priorities. According to him, Russia has already taken measures to protect electoral sovereignty and organize voting in compliance with security requirements and electoral rights of citizens.

On July 18, the Central Election Commission of Russia certified the lists of candidates for deputies of the State Duma from all 11 parties participating in the election campaign. The commission also approved the voting dates on June 17. As a result, it will be held from September 18 to 20, 2026. It is expected that this time more than 1.6 million young Russians will be able to vote for the first time.
