A drug courier cat was detained at the entrance to the Nizhny Novgorod colony

IK-17 employees in the Nizhny Novgorod region detained a cat who was trying to deliver narcotic substances to the territory of a correctional institution. This was reported on July 21 on the website of the regional Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN).

"An unusual furry intruder was arrested. The offender turned out to be a cat, he was equipped with a homemade cloth collar, inside of which unknown substances were found," the report says.

According to the agency, the animal had to sneak into the convicts to transfer the illegal package. A dog handler with a service dog named Foxy was called to the scene. The examination confirmed that the materials found in the collar are drugs.

The department's staff seized a collar with prohibited substances from the cat and examined the animal. After making sure that the furry intermediary was not injured, he was released.
