The large dining room in the Anichkov Palace in St. Petersburg has been restored

In St. Petersburg, the restoration of one of the most famous rooms, the Large Dining Room, has been completed in the Anichkov Palace. Every year, the famous "Christmas Trees" for children are held here.

The restoration work lasted two years. During this time, the restorers cleaned the stucco, cornices and columns of artificial marble from the old paint. They managed to repair the damaged parts at the joints of the ceiling and walls. The window frames and doors were restored separately, in special workshops.

The experts managed to find an antique duct, decorated with ceramic tiles and equipped with a rotary mechanism. The unique design will be made into a museum exhibit.

In mid-June, the first stage of the reconstruction of the Stable Department started in St. Petersburg. Emergency work is underway at the historic site, which will last 10 months. Specialists will have to eliminate emergency defects in the buildings, clean and restore the walls, strengthen structures and foundations.
