Gilyana Katkaeva, a general practitioner and pulmonologist at the SM Clinic Medical Center, told on Monday, July 20, how the increased air temperature in the summer affects the health of drivers.

According to the expert, people suffering from arterial hypertension, coronary artery disease, rhythm disturbances and heart failure should exercise special caution when traveling by car. 360.ru .

"If you are planning a long trip, I advise you to consult your doctor, discuss the permissible amount of fluid consumed, and adjust the doses of medications that may contribute to additional dehydration," she said in an interview with Auto Mail.

She added that the difference between the temperature in the cabin and outside should not exceed 7-8 degrees. In this case, the flow of cooled air in the cabin should be directed to the windshield or legs.

Katkaeva warned that with a direct flow into the face or body, local inflammations may occur — myositis, neuralgia. In addition, hypothermia under air conditioning can cause diseases such as otitis media, sinusitis, pneumonia, or exacerbation of chronic diseases such as bronchitis and bronchial asthma.

The therapist said that drivers most often have an exacerbation of gastritis from the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) due to the fact that they often make do with light snacks and drink chilled carbonated drinks on an empty stomach.

Earlier, on July 15, auto expert Evgeny Ladushkin told RT that due to poor visibility at night with tinting, drivers often go to install more powerful headlights, which create problems for drivers they already meet.

In turn, Olga Gladkova, an ophthalmologist at the SM Clinic Medical Center, Ph.D., warned against wearing glasses with yellow lenses during the day, which many drivers use at night. The specialist noted that glasses with yellow lenses should not be used instead of sunglasses, as they do not provide sufficient protection from ultraviolet radiation.
