On July 20, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin inspected the construction of a connecting road between the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) and Akademika Koroleva Street, including a new overpass through the tracks of the MCD-3.

The official noted that the Petrovo-Razumovsky transport hub will become one of the largest in Moscow. Several metro lines, MCD-1 and MCD-3, converge here, and in the future the Moscow–St. Petersburg high-speed highway will take place. In addition, a large city railway station is under construction and about 10 road projects are being implemented, two thirds of which have already been completed, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

According to Sobyanin, the new overpass will connect the MSD with Akademika Koroleva Street, improve transport accessibility in four districts of the capital and ensure the construction of the HSR line.

The work is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, but Farit Khaidarov, CEO of the contractor company MISK, said that the facility is expected to be commissioned as early as 2026. He noted that construction is on schedule: 260 people and 57 pieces of equipment are working around the clock at the site.

Construction began in September 2023, and the facility is now 65% ready, Moscow 24 writes. The new 2.8 km traffic-free highway will run from the intersection of Valaam Street with Dmitrov Highway to Akademika Koroleva Street, parallel to the tracks of the MCD-3.
