The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied information about the resignation of Syrsky

The reports that have appeared in the media about the dismissal of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky are not true. This was announced on July 20 by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army.

"The information that has appeared in the information space, in particular, in social networks and some media regarding the alleged dismissal of the commander—in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexander Syrsky, from his post is not true," the department's Telegram channel said.

The general Staff noted that Syrsky and Chief of the General Staff Andrei Gnatov continue to perform their duties, and dismissal from these positions is carried out only on the basis of a decree by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, which has not yet been signed.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian journalist Andrei Smoliy said that Syrsky could have been dismissed from his post. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities will publish official information about this during the day.

On July 17, the Ukrainian media reported that protests had taken place in the country in Krivoy Rog and Lviv. Later, it was also reported about actions in Kiev, Mykolaiv and Odessa. At the same time, on July 18, it was reported that the head of the Kiev regime had not discussed Syrsky's resignation with the Ukrainian command.
