The number of resources imitating state galleries has decreased in Russia
In the first half of 2026, Stoloto and F6 discovered and blocked 809 fraudulent resources that operated under the guise of national state lotteries. This is six times less than in the same period of 2025, the Stoloto press service reported.
Among the 809 resources discovered and blocked in the first half of 2026, there were 273 phishing sites, 164 web resources, 289 pages on social networks, 23 messenger accounts and 60 mobile applications. A year earlier, in the first half of 2025, 4891 resources were blocked.
"Together with our cybersecurity partners, we are constantly improving our methods of combating all kinds of fraud in the segment of state lotteries, which Stoloto distributes, in order to protect citizens as much as possible from the actions of intruders. The decrease in the volume of resources discovered and blocked in 2026 confirms the effectiveness of this approach — it is unprofitable for fraudsters to invest in this area," said Ekaterina Tuton, director of the multidisciplinary holding company S8 Capital, which includes Stoloto.
"Our long—term experience of cooperation with Stoloto clearly demonstrates a positive trend: systematic daily work on monitoring and blocking fraudulent resources leads to a decrease in phishing and scams," said Stanislav Goncharov, head of Digital Risk Protection at F6. He added that for the first time in years of work, experts have not discovered any new criminal schemes or new types of fraudulent resources directed against lottery participants from Stoloto.
Scammers lure you to their resources through social networks or email newsletters, Stoloto said. Sites that mimic lotteries offer the user a free "winning" ticket. To collect the "prize", the "winner" is required to pay a commission or fee for the transfer of winnings and provide personal information on the payment page. This is how attackers receive not only money, but also bank card data.
