Floods and landslides in India killed at least 25 people.

At least 25 people died as a result of floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in the north and northeast of India over the weekend. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 20, citing local authorities.

At least 15 people were killed in Poonch, Rajauri and Doda districts in the Indian part of Kashmir, and several more people are missing due to heavy rains, an Indian police official said.

It is noted that nine more people died in Nagaland state as a result of landslides. Rescuers have already recovered four bodies. In addition, one person died in the neighboring state of Assam, the Disaster Management Department said.

Torrential rains will continue for several more days in the listed areas in the north and northeast of the country.

Earlier, on July 18, at least four people were killed and four more were missing as a result of flooding that hit a mountain village in the northern Vietnamese province of Lai Chau. According to preliminary estimates, roads, electricity networks and hundreds of houses were damaged, as well as 238 hectares of crops were flooded.
