North Korean Foreign Minister declares Kim Jong-un's support for Russia's policy
In a telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Russia Day, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that Pyongyang would always support Moscow's course, and such a foreign policy position was unshakable. This was stated on July 20 by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Choi Song-hee during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
"Not only today, but in the future, we will strictly support the policy of the Russian leadership to defend sovereignty, territorial integrity, international justice and the course of building a strong Russia," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
Pyongyang, as Choi Song-hee pointed out, also undertakes to always bear responsibility for the implementation of those agreements that were reached at the conclusion of interstate agreements. According to her, this approach to conducting foreign policy remains unchanged.
The North Korean Foreign Minister, in an interview with Lavrov, once again stated that the state she represents considers the special military operation (SVO) to be "sacred" and aimed at protecting the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.
Choi Song-hee arrived in Moscow on an official visit on July 18 at the invitation of Sergey Lavrov. As part of the trip, she met with Putin on July 19, to whom she also expressed North Korea's support for all of Russia's efforts to assert its sovereignty. Then the minister said that Pyongyang advocates the need to eliminate all the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko announced the continuation of the Russian Federation and the DPRK strengthening their bilateral cooperation. According to him, the parties regularly contact each other at various levels.
