- In Ukraine, they reported on the possible dismissal of Syrsky from the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky could be dismissed from his post. This was announced on July 20 by Ukrainian journalist Andrei Smoliy, citing media reports.
"According to media reports, Alexander Syrsky was dismissed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The official announcement is expected today," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Smoliy, the Ukrainian authorities will publish official information about this during the day. It is also clarified that the decision on Syrsky's resignation could have been made against the background of protests after the dismissal of Mikhail Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
On July 15, Fedorov confirmed his resignation with a farewell message. According to Ukrainska Pravda, Zelensky stated that there was a protracted conflict between the Minister of Defense and Syrsky.
On July 17, the Ukrainian media reported that protests had taken place in the country in Krivoy Rog and Lviv. Later, it was also reported about actions in Kiev, Mykolaiv and Odessa. At the same time, on July 18, it was reported that the head of the Kiev regime had not discussed Syrsky's resignation with the Ukrainian command.
