A Russian serviceman spoke about the work of the units in Konstantinovka, DPR

On July 20, the commander of the 2nd battalion of the 78th separate motorized Rifle Regiment of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Shah spoke about the work of the units in Konstantinovka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

The Shah spoke about the difficult approach to the city, as there were mostly fields and small plantings around Konstantinovka.

"We work as a single fist. Our higher command sets us a clear task. We mostly moved through the fields, chose the time, changed the terrain, and entered through the plantings. Basically, the problem was that the artillery couldn't work because there were a lot of civilians there," he said.

The soldier added that Konstantinovka was a serious fortified area, practically a fortress. He noted that the settlement was of strategic importance and its liberation opened the way to Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka.

According to him, each department operates in its own area of responsibility. Military personnel check every basement and every house, and if there are civilians in the buildings, they are taken out.

Konstantinovka has been fully controlled by the Russian Armed Forces since July 3. Since then, the cleansing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) began there and actions to evacuate civilians began. After a while, videos appeared online about the alleged raising of the flag of Ukraine in the city, which the Russian Defense Ministry called staged. Those who appeared in one of these videos were subsequently captured.

On July 20, the anti-terrorist special purpose unit "Gorynych" of the Russian FSB directorate for the DPR destroyed Ukrainian saboteurs and drone operators on the outskirts of Konstantinovka. The UFSB for the DPR clarified that the unit's drone operators had eliminated 10 AFU militants.
