The appointment of Andy Burnham as British Prime Minister will not lead to noticeable changes in the country's foreign and domestic policy. Alexander Dudchak, a leading researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries and a political scientist, told Izvestia on July 20.

"It makes no sense to expect changes in the UK's foreign policy. Why would that be? This is another functionary who has replaced exactly the same one, and it is unlikely that anything will change significantly in the British economy, both in foreign policy and in domestic policy," he said.

Dudchak noted that Burnham gained fame while working as the head of Greater Manchester, where he proved himself as a manager. At the same time, according to the political scientist, the new leader has not yet presented his own political program and will continue the previous course of the British authorities.

The expert also explained that changes in the UK's relations with Russia should not be expected. According to him, London will maintain its support for Ukraine and will continue to pursue its previous foreign policy line.
