The cause of poisoning at a recreation center in Stavropol was infected hams
Infected hams shipped from Nevinnomyssk caused mass poisoning at a recreation center in the Stavropol Territory. This was reported by TASS on July 20, citing operational services.
"The hams that were delivered to the recreation center from the city of Nevinnomyssk were infected," the agency's source said.
The regional Ministry of Health reported on July 18 that 53 people were hospitalized as a result of poisoning. Doctors assessed the patients' condition as moderate. A criminal case was opened under Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules that caused mass illness or poisoning of people").
On July 17, the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that a massive intestinal infection occurred in a hotel complex located at the Volchye Vorota reservoir near the village of Novoselitsky in Stavropol. The work of the institution was temporarily restricted until the end of the inspection.
