The jubilee GARAGE FEST was held at the motorhome Igor Drive

The GARAGE FEST festival took place on the weekend of July 18 and 19 at the Igora Drive autodrome in the Leningrad Region. One of his main events was the endurance race, where everything was decided by strategy, stability and character.

At the fifth anniversary "GARAGE FEST Igor Drive 2026", the organizers decided to test the strength of both cars and pilots.

"The stands of the Igora Drive autodrome are full, it's good to be in the shade: it's hot in St. Petersburg, it feels like the asphalt is about to start melting. He will melt, because the hardest eight-hour race is ahead. For example, on this straight kilometer section, speeds will reach 300 km per hour," said Izvestia correspondent Daniil Lankov.

The pilots, taking turns, complete hundreds of laps on a challenging world-class track. As pilot Stanislav Aksenov noted, it is very difficult for the participants because of the heat, they lose up to three to eight kg of fluid in one segment of the race.

"The track is designed for Formula 1, the track is beautiful. Nizhny Novgorod or Kazan are much more difficult, St. Petersburg is not so difficult, but it's easy to lose time here due to the fact that it's long, there are a lot of high-speed turns," said pilot Roman Smolyakov.

In an eight-hour race, every second is important, all the while the engineers in the pits do not take their eyes off the monitors.

"Fuel, tire pressure, temperatures, I control the parameters that everything is in order with the car," explained engineer Anton Seliverstov.

"Last year, one of the festival-goers came up to me and said: "Thank you so much for your festival, for a very long time I tried to drag my wife to a motorsport event, she refused all the time because she doesn't like cars, she's bored. She bought into the concert program and came with me. I finally showed her the drift, and after she watched the drift, she made me buy two tickets to the RDS Open in Kazan," said Alexey Titov, General Director of the Igora Drive circuit.

GARAGE FEST at the Igora Drive Racetrack is not only a race, but also an exhibition where each of the dozens of exhibits reflects the spirit of the era. The Subaru rally legend, Lamborghini and Toyota racing supercars are represented here, but the sports Moskvich and carbon-fiber Zhiguli take the audience award.

Also at the festival, the largest Crimean wineries Inkerman, Massandra, Valery Zakharin and the Novy Svet House of Champagne Wines presented their champions: the most titled Russian wine.

During these two days, Igor Drive 2026 GARAGE FEST was attended by thousands of guests from all over the country, professional pilots and racing enthusiasts — all those for whom the roar of the engine is like a balm to the soul.
