The fourth stage of the multi-day cycling race "Russia" was held in Ivanovo

On July 18, the League of Heroes, with the support of the Russian Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, held the fourth stage of the Russia multi—day cycling race in Ivanov, a large-scale project that takes place in eight regions of the country and combines competitions, cycling festivals and a cultural program. Stoloto, the largest distributor of state lotteries, is the general partner of the event.

"Ivanovo met the stage of the Russia cycling race just amazing! We wanted to make this day unforgettable, and everything worked out: the professionals gave a great race, and the fans and guests enjoyed the bike and gastro festival. It's great that the holiday united the whole city — both adults and children got on bicycles together!", commented Vladislav Chaitsyn, head of the cycling department of the League of Heroes.

The sports race took place in the central part of the city and consisted of 10 laps of 6 kilometers each. The final place of the participants was calculated by the sum of the occupied places on each lap — the lower the amount, the higher the position in the final protocol.

The winner of the men's cycling race was Apolosov Alexander (Dubna, Moscow region). Oleg Andronov (Nizhny Novgorod) took the second place. Artem Dubov (Nizhny Novgorod) won the bronze medal.

The women's podium looked like this: Maria Kurnosova (Moscow Region) took the first place, Victoria Ivanova (Vladimir Region) took the second, and Alina Volkova (Moscow Region) took the third.

The winners and prize-winners of the cycling race were congratulated by Ksenia Brazhnikova, Director of the Sports Department of the Ivanovo region. She handed over the baton of the next stage to Peter Pozhidaev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the Tver Region. On August 8, the fifth stage of the Russia cycling race will take place in Kalyazin.

After the bike race, the evening cycling festival was launched, with more than 2,000 people registered to participate. Everyone could participate in the race, regardless of their level of training. The length of the route was 16 kilometers.

The multi-day cycling race "Russia" takes place from May 16 to September 12 in eight regions of the country, it is dedicated to the anniversary of the famous tourist route "Golden Ring" and is aimed at popularizing and developing domestic tourism.
