Yakutia is struggling with floods

A difficult flood situation persists in Yakutia. The water level on the rivers of the republic is rising.

According to the Regional Rescue Service, the most difficult situation is on the Lena River coast, where the water level has exceeded the critical mark. An apartment building was flooded in the city of Olekminsk, and water reached 32 more buildings. In the village of Kyllakh, the water level is close to critical.

In the Lena region, the water level in the Lena River has declined, but it still exceeds dangerous values. In the Khangalassky district, the river is rising rapidly. Sewage rose in the village of Suntar in the Suntarsky district due to precipitation. Farmlands, yards, and private farms were flooded, and some roads were washed away. A special commission was engaged in calculating the amount of damage.

A high-alert regime was announced in the Eveno-Bytantaysky district. In the village of Batagai-Alyta, a flooded stream flooded more than 20 courtyards, where almost 80 people live. Five bridges were destroyed, two roads, a square and a park were flooded. A large rise in water in the Bytantai River is expected in the village of Kustur, the water level in the Dzhargalakh River has already increased.

A decrease in the water level was recorded at most hydrological posts in the Verkhoyansky district. However, a tense situation remains in the village of Swordy on the Dulgalakh River and in Ust-Chakra on the Adycha River, writes IA YakutiaMedia.
