- The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to the intensive work of Russia and the DPRK to strengthen the alliance
Moscow and Pyongyang continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation by maintaining regular contacts at various levels. This was announced on July 19 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko.
"In accordance with the spirit and letter of the new founding agreement, intensive work is underway in close coordination with the Korean departments to further improve bilateral cooperation, including in practical areas through the intergovernmental commission. This year, active contacts with the DPRK at various levels continue," he said in an interview with TASS.
According to the diplomat, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and the DPRK, signed in June 2024 in Pyongyang, has brought bilateral relations to a new, allied level.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee is arriving in Moscow on an official visit. Choi Song-hee said on May 30 that the countries, being allies, have a common opinion on all strategic issues.
