Hackers reported hacking of the president's website in Kenya

The official website of Kenyan President William Ruto was hacked, as a result of which messages demanding a ransom appeared on the main page of the portal. This was announced on July 18 by the portal Kenyans.co .

"The page posted accusations against Ruto, the address of a cryptocurrency wallet, and a payment request, while the hackers threatened to publish unspecified information if their demands were not met," the publication says.

According to journalists, the attackers are demanding to transfer five bitcoins (about $ 320 thousand) to the specified crypto wallet.

The administration of William Ruto confirmed the hacking. Currently, IT specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the cyberattack and restore the regular operation of the resource.

Lithuanian Minister of Health Maria Yakubauskene announced on June 10 that a hacker attack had been carried out on her department. During it, the attackers managed to steal over 62 thousand electronic records from the system, which included personal data of medical workers. According to her, the cybercriminals had mobile phones and other contact information of employees.
