A press conference dedicated to the International Chess Day is being held at the Izvestia Press center on July 20.

Sergey Karjakin, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, grandmaster, and President of the Moscow Region Chess Federation, will talk about the achievements of Russian chess over the past year, the prospects for admitting Russian athletes to the 2026 Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, and the possibility of including chess in the school curriculum.
