The State Duma recalled the increase in pensions for some pensioners in August

In addition to the traditional August recalculation for working pensioners and recipients of funded pensions, payments for several more categories of citizens will increase next month. This was announced on July 18 by Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

According to her, those who turned 80 in July will receive an increase, as well as pensioners who were first diagnosed with the first disability group. In addition, payments to pilots, miners and pensioners who depend on disabled family members will increase.

"In addition to recalculating working pensioners and recipients of funded pensions, in August payments will increase for those who have the right to a supplement: those who celebrated their 80th birthday or received the first disability group, as well as pilots, miners and pensioners with dependents," Stenyakina said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The MP clarified that the fixed old-age pension payment will be doubled for pensioners who celebrated their 80th birthday in July. A care allowance will also be automatically assigned. The same applies to citizens who were diagnosed with the first disability group in July. At the same time, if a person already receives an increased fixed disability payment, there will be no repeat increase after the age of 80.

Starting from August 1, professional surcharges for former flight crew members and coal industry workers will also be recalculated. The amount of the increase will depend on the length of service, earnings and profession. In addition, the increase is due to pensioners who have a dependent minor child, a full-time student under the age of 23, or a disabled child. All recalculations will be carried out automatically.

Lawyer Timur Marshani said on July 17 that in Russia, starting from July 7, 2026, the procedure for processing pensions has changed. When applying for payment, it is enough for a citizen to provide a passport and SNILS, and the Social Fund of Russia will receive the rest of the necessary information independently. According to the expert, data on seniority and earnings will now be requested automatically through a single digital platform and interagency interaction.
