On July 15, CENTCOM announced that the US Armed Forces had launched a new wave of strikes against Iran. The next day, they also announced the end of hostilities. It was clarified that the American armed Forces, using planes, drones and ships, attacked dozens of Iranian facilities.

On the same day, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt announced that Iran had told the United States it wanted to conclude a deal. She added that the Islamic Republic had taken such a step because it was suffering "crushing losses" from the US military.

The Wall Street Journal reported on July 15 that US President Donald Trump, after consultations with key advisers, began to lean towards expanding military operations against Iran. These include increased bombing of the territory of the Islamic Republic and attacks on Iranian energy facilities.
