Grigory Leps presented a tribute to the song "Moon" by the Lube group
Pop singer Grigory Leps presented a tribute version of the song "Moon" by the Lyube group. The song was included in the album "Lube 35" on July 17. It's starting all over again. A tribute."
The song first appeared in 1994 on the album "Lube Zone". She also performed in the musical film of the same name. Over the years, it has become one of the most recognizable lyrical works of Lyube. The author of the text, Mikhail Andreev, called "The Moon" one of his most significant works, created together with composer Igor Matvienko.
"Igor Matvienko and I have written, I think, a masterpiece. This song just tears humanity away from gravity. When my son was still young and couldn't speak, I played this song to him on a tape recorder, and he cried without understanding the words. That's the power of this song," Andreev said.
The composition tells about human destiny, lived life, memory and loneliness. The central image of the song is a character who feels like an old wolf who has fallen behind the pack, who remembers his youth, friends and former freedom.
In the new version, as noted by the creators of the project, Leps retained the atmosphere of the original performed by Nikolai Rastorguev, but gave the work a more dramatic sound. In the new performance, the lyrical hero appears as an even more lonely person who is no longer trying to bring back the past, but keeps it as part of his own life.
Denis Marinkin (drums and percussion), Alexey Belyaev (bass guitar), Pavel Dugin (guitar and arrangement) and Alexey Bazanovich (arrangement) also took part in the recording.
On March 20, People's Artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina and the Russian Song ensemble recorded a cover version of the song "From the Volga to the Yenisei" for the tribute album Lube 35. Everything is starting again" by the Lube Group. The song was released in 2005 in the album "Rasseya". The version of Babkina and the Russian Song ensemble reveals the song through the prism of the artist's rich stage experience, folk tradition and powerful vocal delivery.
