Manturov spoke about the need to optimize the production of interceptor UAVs

In order to use interceptor drones more effectively, it is necessary to optimize the process of their mass production and unify the components. This was announced on July 17 by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov during a thematic session on this type of military equipment.

"It is necessary to clearly define the requirements for interceptor UAVs to combat medium- and long-range drones, as well as develop approaches to ensure the mass production of models with different applications... It is important to unify components and optimize the cost of mass production of final samples," he said.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister called this issue relevant, as interceptor drones have already proven their effectiveness in neutralizing FPV drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Another advantage of such equipment, he explained, is its low cost, which allows Russian military personnel not to spend expensive missiles on small targets.

Manturov said that for even more effective use of interceptors, it is necessary to improve their interaction with detection, targeting and control systems. In this matter, as he stressed, a technological race has emerged in which the Russian side always needs to be "one step ahead."

Clean air: training of interceptor drone operators has begun in the military

Anti-UAV training has been deployed in all military districts of the country.

On June 29, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that all formations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have already built layered protection against UAV attacks. At the same time, he clarified that artificial intelligence technologies have now been actively introduced into domestic air defense systems. This area, as explained by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, is one of the seven key initiatives that are planned to be implemented by the end of 2026.
