Ex-MP Nadezhdin was fined for displaying extremist symbols

The Dolgoprudnensky City Court of the Moscow Region fined Boris Nadezhdin, an ex-deputy (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), 1,000 rubles for demonstrating extremist symbols. This was reported on July 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Nadezhdin was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Propaganda or public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols, or paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations)."

It is noted that the article assumes punishment in the form of a fine of up to 2 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days with possible confiscation of the object of the offense.

The 17-year-old author of the stuffing admitted to Izvestia that no one in the opposition media had checked his inventions.

On July 10, the Russian Ministry of Justice included Nadezhdin in the register of foreign agents. According to the agency, the politician called on Russian citizens to participate in uncoordinated rallies, and also disseminated false information about the decisions of Russian authorities, their policies and the work of the electoral system.
