Starting from September 1, 2026, Russia will increase insurance pensions for certain categories of citizens, while payments will be recalculated automatically, without submitting applications. The amount will be 19,169 rubles. This was announced by Alexei Govyrin, a State Duma deputy from the United Russia party, in a conversation with Izvestia.

At the same time, there is no provision for co—financing from the budget - as employers will be involved in transferring payments for employees.

"First of all, these are pensioners who celebrated their 80th birthday in August. Article 17 of Federal Law No. 400-FZ of December 28, 2013 "On Insurance Pensions" doubles their fixed payment, so starting in September it will increase from 9584.69 rubles to 19 169.38 rubles. Additionally, a monthly allowance for care is assigned, and the total increase will approach 11 thousand rubles, and this amount will be indexed annually," he said.

The second category of recipients is citizens who were assigned disability group I for the first time in August. As Alexey Govyrin noted, their fixed payment is also being doubled. At the same time, the doubling is performed once, therefore, upon reaching the age of 80, such a pensioner retains the already increased payment without recalculating it.
