A good harvest is expected in Russia this year, especially in the south of the country. This was announced on July 17 by the Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut at the "All-Russian Field Day" in Barnaul.

"In general, we see potentially good volumes in physics. <..> Siberia will be slightly lower this year, <...> but our southern regions will cover us. <...> This year they look very good. Every year we have this situation: someone fails, someone makes it higher. We have a big country. In terms of needs, we cover ourselves well and have a good export potential," Lut said, her speech was broadcast on the website.

Lut reported that the grain harvest in Russia currently amounts to more than 21 million tons. At the same time, according to her, grain harvesting is lagging by more than 2.5 million hectares due to difficult weather conditions during the sowing season: rains delayed the start of sowing operations, which, in turn, postponed the harvesting period. However, according to the minister, the southern regions will yield a good amount of harvest due to sufficient moisture.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture also stressed that farmers will be provided with fuel for the harvesting and upcoming sowing campaigns. There are difficulties in some regions, but they will be solved individually on a case-by-case basis. Luth stressed that all the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the government on this issue will be fully implemented.

At the end of June, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced that the harvesting campaign in Russia was proceeding normally, despite the influence of weather factors in certain regions. It is expected that the resulting harvest will fully meet the domestic needs of the country and preserve the export potential of Russian grain.
