The increase in the minimum wage does not affect pensions that have already been awarded, but it may play a role in shaping future payments. This was announced on July 17 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for public control and work with citizens' appeals.

"I want to say that the increase in the minimum wage does not affect the pension already awarded. The pension is indexed according to the schedule," the expert said in an interview with TASS.

He recalled that the minimum wage is the minimum wage. When working full-time, the employer does not have the right to pay an employee, including a working pensioner, less than this amount. At the same time, the minimum wage cannot be lower than the subsistence minimum. A change in the minimum wage can affect a future pension, since an increase in wages leads to an increase in contributions to the Social Fund, the expert said.

According to the expert, an annual recalculation of insurance pensions will be carried out for working pensioners based on contributions received in 2025.
