United Russia's leadership was noted in FoRGO in communication with voters
The United Russia Party (EP) retains leadership in communicating with voters thanks to extensive work on social networks and the preparation of an updated National Program. This was announced on July 16 by Konstantin Kostin, President of the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society (FoRGO).
"A new level of communication with the electorate. <...> We have noticed <...> that when we talk about leadership, for example, on social media, for some reason everyone forgets that the most popular politicians on all social networks are representatives of the United Russia party," he said at a round table Expert Institute of Social Research and FoRGO at MIA "Russia Today".
Kostin also drew attention to the scale of the EP's presence on social media. According to him, not only federal leaders, but also governors, deputies and representatives of the municipal level actively communicate with citizens, and in terms of the volume of content created, United Russia is significantly ahead of other political forces.
"If we take [Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry] Medvedev, [Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav] Volodina, if we take popular governors who head regional branches of the party, they generally significantly outperform representatives of other parties and even many representatives of celebrities. <...> Most of the deputy corps is present on social media and communicates with voters. <...> On this scale, of course, the superiority over all others is very significant."- Kostin explained.
The head of FoRGO noted that the EP had begun in advance the preparation of a report on the implementation of the National Program for the previous five years and work on a new version of the document. In addition, he drew attention to the fact that the party remains the only one that nominates candidates for almost all municipal elected positions. Together, these factors bring the EP to a new level of communication with the electorate.
"In this sense, the party is at a certain new stage of communication with the electorate, both technologically and meaningfully. <...> It seems to me that this is an advantage and a resource that, in this difficult situation, will help the party quite seriously in the [election] campaign," Kostin concluded.
On July 12, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia completed accepting documents from political parties to certify the lists of candidates for the election of deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation. In total, 11 political associations submitted documents. Among them are five parliamentary parties — United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party, New People and Fair Russia, as well as six non—parliamentary parties - the Party of Pensioners, the Party of Direct Democracy, Yabloko, the Communists of Russia, Rodina and the Greens.
On June 17, the CEC approved the dates of voting in the State Duma. As a result, it will be held from September 18 to 20, 2026. It is expected that this time more than 1.6 thousand young Russians will be able to vote for the first time. According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, her office is already taking all necessary measures to ensure their comfort. She stressed that the Central Election Commission will do everything possible to provide residents of the new regions with the opportunity to participate in the voting.
