In the Verkhneufaleysky urban district of the Chelyabinsk region, rescuers evacuated 42 people from the flood zone of the Ufaleyka and Generalka rivers, which turned out to contain 14 household plots. This was announced on July 16 by the Ministry of Ecology of the Chelyabinsk region.
"In order to ensure safety, 42 people were evacuated from the flood zone. Most of them are staying with relatives and friends, 6 people are in a temporary accommodation facility," the ministry said in a message on the Maks messenger.
According to the Ministry, 51 mm of precipitation has fallen in the territory of Verkhneufaleysky city district in the last 12 hours. A temporary accommodation facility for 13 beds has been deployed in the area, and another one for 50 beds is also being prepared.
The Ministry of Ecology also reported that rescuers and local authorities arrived at the flood site. It is also indicated that Alexander Grib, Minister of Public Safety of the Chelyabinsk Region, and Igor Gilev, Minister of Ecology, went to Verkhneufaleysky city district to coordinate work on the spot.
On July 14, a municipal emergency mode was introduced in the city of Irbit, Sverdlovsk region. The water level in the Nitse River reached 741 cm, exceeding the dangerous mark. During the entire flood period, 525 private houses and more than 5.1 thousand household plots were flooded in 25 municipalities.
On June 23, the main directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Orenburg region reported that 188 residential buildings and 361 household plots were flooded as a result of heavy rains and rising river levels. According to the ministry, 93 people, including 12 children, were evacuated from the flood zone.
