An employee of a geological exploration company in Buryatia is suspected of causing death by negligence to a student who arrived for practice, the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the republic reported on July 16.

The tragedy occurred on the night of July 15, when the organization's employees, along with trainees on a tracked all-terrain vehicle, left the base of the Kupchinsky exploration site, after which they stopped to drink alcohol.

"Some time later, a geologist technician of the company, being intoxicated, climbed into the cabin of an all-terrain vehicle, started the engine and, mistakenly turning on the first gear instead of the rear gear, hit a 22-year—old student from the Irkutsk region," the department's Telegram channel says.

The girl died on the spot from her injuries. Now investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the tragedy.

On March 4, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the roof of a metalwork manufacturing plant collapsed in the Tula region when 45 people were in the workshop. During the dismantling of the rubble, the body of the deceased was discovered. On March 6, an employee of the organization was detained in the SU of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region, who was charged with causing death by negligence. It was established that the collapse occurred due to the accumulation of snow and ice on an area of 1.2 thousand square meters. m.
