Over the past 25 years, the North Atlantic Alliance has initiated more than 30 military-terrorist conflicts, for which trillions of dollars have been spent. This was announced on July 16 by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Yuri Kokov.

"Over the last quarter of a century alone, the bloc has unleashed more than 30 military-terrorist conflicts on different continents. Trillions of dollars are being spent on these adventures, disguised by the high principles of democracy, humanism, respect for human rights and the fight against terrorism," he stressed in an interview with TASS.

Kokov recalled that when the organization was founded in 1949, its stated goal was to ensure collective defense, as well as preserve peace and security in the North Atlantic region. According to the founding treaty, the Member States promised to resolve international disputes peacefully and not to use force.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 12 that Russia alone opposes the entire collective West in the form of NATO. The North Atlantic Alliance, as the Russian leader explained, is doing everything to organize hostile actions against the Russian Federation, and it was its members, not Russia, who unleashed the conflict.
