Russia highly appreciates China's position on the Ukrainian crisis, including its balanced nature and understanding of the causes of the conflict. This was announced on July 15 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"We highly appreciate China's constructive and balanced position on the situation around Ukraine, based on a deep understanding of the genesis of the crisis and ways to resolve it politically based on identifying and eliminating its root causes," he said in an article for Kommersant dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries.

According to Lavrov, Chinese President Xi Jinping's approach is in line with Russian President Vladimir Putin's initiative to create a system of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.

The Foreign Minister said that Russia is ready to continue working on combining these initiatives both at the level of official authorities and within the framework of a dialogue between the expert communities of the two countries.

On May 20, Xi Jinping noted that the world is facing the risk of a return to the "law of the jungle" and stressed the increasing importance of the China-Russia Good-Neighborly Agreement. At the same time, Putin pointed out that countries advocate appreciating the diversity of cultures and respecting the right of each country to its own path of development. States strive to create a more just and democratic world order, the Russian leader assured.

At the same time, Putin and Xi Jinping signed a Declaration on the formation of a multipolar world and a new type of international relations. The Russian President noted that the agreement would become the foundation for sustainable development towards the creation of a multipolar world.
