A monument to the Russian composer Mikhail Glinka has been dismantled in Zaporizhia, Ukraine. This was reported by the UNIAN news agency on July 15.

"A monument to composer Mikhail Glinka was dismantled in Zaporizhia. He has been standing outside the regional Philharmonic hall since 1955," the Telegram channel says.

According to the agency, this monument remained one of the last in the city dedicated to prominent figures of Russian culture.

It is clarified that, despite the dismantling of the monument, the concert hall still bears the name of the composer, since the decision to rename it has not yet been made.
