Iran has allowed a US citizen who was illegally detained in 2024 to leave the country. This was announced on July 15 by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

"Iran has allowed a US citizen who was illegally detained in December 2024 during the "presidency" of sleepy Joe Biden to leave the country. She is now safe outside Iran and in good condition," he wrote on the Truth Social network.

Trump added that the United States "highly appreciates this gesture of goodwill" from the Iranian side.

On May 10, the American leader announced that three Polish citizens and two Moldovans would be released from prisons in Russia and Belarus thanks to the assistance of the United States. The head of the White House clarified that last September he had a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, who asked him to release Andrzej Poczobut from a Belarusian prison.
