The British Ministry of Defense announced the start of deliveries of artillery barrels to Ukraine.

The UK has begun supplying Ukraine with 105- and 155-mm barrels for artillery guns under a contract worth 61 million pounds. This was announced on July 15 on the website of the British Defense Ministry.

"The first of 150 British—made artillery barrels are being supplied to Ukraine to strengthen its defenses under a £61 million contract that provides hundreds of jobs in Sheffield," the publication says.

It is noted that this batch was the first produced in the country in the last 20 years. The first four barrels were sent to Kiev as prototypes for forging, which will allow the Ukrainian side to test its own production processes.

The project will be based on Kiev's combat experience.

Bloomberg, citing sources, reported on July 10 that the European Union plans to allow Kiev to purchase weapons from Britain as part of the European military financing program for Ukraine for 2026-2027 totaling € 60 billion. However, in order to implement this initiative, the European Commission has put forward a counterclaim to London. The British government will be required to co-finance Ukrainian military orders every time Kiev requests permission from Brussels to purchase weapons from United Kingdom companies.
