Russia and China are jointly advocating the formation of a more equitable multipolar world order. This was announced on July 16 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The commonality of our foreign policy philosophy is also evidenced by the wording of the international sections of the joint statements following the results of the Russian-Chinese summits. Recent examples include the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a multipolar World and a New Type of International Relations approved by the leaders during the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China in May this year," he said in an article for Kommersant dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Russian Foreign Minister, over the past 25 years, Moscow and Beijing have managed to significantly strengthen coordination on international platforms. He noted that the approaches of the two countries to most global and regional issues are close, and in many cases completely coincide. Among such topics are issues of strategic stability, arms control and the fight against terrorism.

"We highly appreciate China's constructive and balanced position on the situation around Ukraine, based on a deep understanding of the genesis of the crisis and ways to resolve it politically based on identifying and eliminating its root causes," Lavrov stressed.

The minister added that Moscow considers Chinese President Xi Jinping's initiative in the field of global security similar to Russian proposals to create an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.

"We are ready to continue working on combining these two initiatives both through the official authorities and through a dialogue between the expert communities of Russia and China," concluded the Russian Foreign Minister.

On May 20, Xi Jinping noted that the world is facing the risk of a return to the "law of the jungle" and stressed the increasing importance of the China-Russia Good-Neighborly Agreement. At the same time, Putin pointed out that countries advocate appreciating the diversity of cultures and respecting the right of each country to its own path of development. States strive to create a more just and democratic world order, the Russian leader assured.

At the same time, Putin and Xi Jinping signed a Declaration on the formation of a multipolar world and a new type of international relations. The Russian President noted that the agreement would become the foundation for sustainable development towards the creation of a multipolar world.
