MTS has increased the number of base stations on the Central Ring Road

The number of MTS base stations serving the Central Ring Road increased by 17%, and the coverage area increased by 16%. Currently, the network is provided by about 130 LTE base stations that serve not only motorists and passengers, but also residents of nearby settlements and enterprises. This was reported by the MTS press service.

According to the company, thanks to the installation of new telecom equipment along the highway, continuous LTE coverage and stable mobile communications are provided throughout the highway.

"A continuous mobile network with an average Internet access speed of 52 Mbit/s on the Central Ring Road provides the capital's communication standards to millions of users along the entire route and contributes to increased safety and control over the road," said Dmitry Polyakov, Director of Strategy and Development at MTS in the Moscow Region.

According to the company, the availability of continuous LTE coverage will further allow the deployment of video surveillance systems and other digital services and smart solutions along the route.

The work has been carried out jointly with the state-owned Avtodor company since 2021. The 340.6 km long Central Ring Road runs through the Moscow Region and New Moscow about 50 km from the MKAD.

Konstantin Makiev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Operator Activities and User Services Development at Avtodor Group, said that the completion of work on the Central Ring Road was the next stage of the program for the development of mobile communications on federal highways following the M-11 Neva and M-12 Vostok.
