Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has opened a new embankment, the Western Port, located on the right bank of the Moskva River between the Shelepikhinsky and Belorussky bridges.

Reconstruction of the embankment began in 2023. 1.9 km of walking and cycling paths, children's and sports grounds have been set up here, a lawn of about one hectare has been laid and 450 square meters have been planted. m flower beds. To strengthen the shore, the specialists also erected a retaining wall made of monolithic reinforced concrete.

The Western Port embankment will become part of a large—scale landscaping project 7 km long, from the sail bridge at the junction of Novozavodskaya Street to the Dorogomilovsky Bridge, the website writes. kp.ru . Two of the four stages of work have now been completed, and the project is planned to be fully implemented by the end of 2028.

In total, since 2011, about 110 km of embankments have been put in order, including almost all the historical granite embankments in the city center, the Moscow City News agency reports.
