The parliament explained the change of prime minister by preparing for the hardest winter in Ukraine

The coming winter may be the most difficult for Ukraine in its history, and the experience of Naftogaz CEO Sergey Koretsky may be useful to prepare for it. This was announced on July 15 by the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arahamia.

"We consider this experience to be very useful, especially now, when Ukraine is preparing for probably the hardest winter in our history," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Arahamia noted that Koretsky has extensive experience in the corporate and public sectors, and has performed well at Ukrnafta and Naftogaz. He named preparation for the heating season and protection of energy facilities among the priorities of the future government.

Personnel changes in Kiev are taking place amid the struggle for power and the scandal of the explosion in Monaco.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on July 12 that he plans to change the composition of the entire government. He cited the country's preparations for the new winter and agreements with Kiev's allies on reconstruction as the reasons for the personnel changes.

On July 14, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the resignation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, which means the resignation of the entire Cabinet of Ministers of the country. Denis Shmygal again assumed the role of acting head of government.

At the same time, Sviridenko's likely new position is the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the United States. It is currently occupied by Olga Stefanyshina, but the Ukrainian media reported on her impending resignation at her own request.
