The Russian side is extremely concerned about the escalation of tension in the Persian Gulf region. This was announced on July 15 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We are extremely concerned about the resumption of military operations in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz," Zakharova said at a briefing.

According to her, the unpredictable development of events jeopardizes the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the conflict. She also expressed regret that the resumption of confrontation occurred after the signing of the memorandum.

Zakharova also called on all parties to abandon confrontational logic and return to the negotiation process.

The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported on the same day that in the context of a new round of escalation of the Middle East conflict, both sides — the United States and Iran — have fewer options and time to achieve their goals and resolve the crisis itself.

The Iranian army had previously announced its intention to continue attacking US bases in the Middle East "until the final victory." In total, since the violation of the ceasefire, the Iranian military has allegedly attacked American bases in the region six times with drones.
