The founder of SOS Donbass will be questioned in a Paris court as part of the investigation into her case.

Anna Novikova, the founder of the French humanitarian association SOS Donbass, will be questioned at a court hearing in Paris. Before the hearing began on Wednesday, July 15, her lawyer Philippe de Vel announced this in an interview with TASS.

"This is the third and hopefully final interrogation. It is not related to requests for her release under judicial control," he said.

Later, in an interview with RIA Novosti, the lawyer noted that the Paris prosecutor's office opposed the release of the Russian activist under judicial supervision.

On the same day, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova, noted that Novikova's alleged "guilt" lies in the fact that she is the founder and vice-president of the humanitarian organization SOS Donbass, which collects aid for civilians in Donbass. She stressed that the French authorities apply double standards: sending weapons to Ukraine used to kill children is considered normal, and humanitarian aid to civilians in Donbass is considered a crime.

On June 24, De Vel told Izvestia that a court in Paris had refused to release Novikova under judicial supervision. According to him, the defense was provided only with a court decision without a reasoning part.
