A new Chinese air carrier has started working with the Khabarovsk Territory.
A Chinese Chengdu Airlines plane landed at Khabarovsk Airport for the first time. The new flight program started on July 14.
For the first time, a Chinese airline will operate flights to Harbin, one of the most sought-after foreign destinations, AmurMedia news agency writes with reference to Khabarovsk Airport JSC.
The flight from Harbin was met in Khabarovsk by a water arch, which was formed by two fire trucks with volleys from water hoses. This is how they welcomed the new air carrier and a new type of aircraft for this airport, the Comac C909 short—haul airliner.
The passenger load of the first flight to Harbin was about 80%.
The agency clarifies that flights to Harbin and Jiamusi will be operated from Khabarovsk under the new program. Departures are scheduled on Tuesdays and Saturdays until the end of spring-summer navigation.
Currently, Khabarovsk Airport's route network to China includes flights to the resorts of Sanya, Yantai, Beidaihe, as well as to Beijing, Dalian, Harbin, Jiamusi and Shanghai. Over the past six months, 68.5 thousand people have been served on Chinese routes in Khabarovsk.
Earlier, China extended the visa-free regime for Russian tourists until the end of 2027. They can stay in the country for up to 30 days.
