A resident of Blagoveshchensk received a suspended sentence for illegal storage, transportation and shipment of precious metals. He found the gold bars in a dumpster and decided to send them to Novosibirsk, but the package was intercepted by the security services.

The case was considered by the Blagoveshchensk City Court. It was established that in February, a local resident found a box with three yellow metal ingots in the area of the Golden Dragon eco-hotel trash. The examination showed that it is an alloy of precious metals weighing about 4.8 kg. The cost of the find was about 60 million rubles.

The man decided to hide the bars in the armrest of the car, and later tried to send the gold to Novosibirsk through a transport company. However, the transfer attempt was stopped by officers of the Amur FSB. They found gold at the Blagoveshchensk airport and seized it.

The man fully admitted his guilt and repented. He was given 1 year and 10 months of probation with a probation period of 1.5 years, writes IA PriamurMedia.

Earlier it was reported that employees of the Federal Customs Service, the FSB and the Interior Ministry detained a French citizen who stole a collection of gold coins worth more than 53 million rubles from the Saint-Remy Museum and sold them in Moscow.
