Mishustin announced the successful development of the Russian Federation in the production of new medicines and medical technologies

Russian specialists are successfully mastering the production of the latest modern medicines and medical technologies with new characteristics and higher quality, for which the country has all the possibilities. This was announced on July 15 by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec State Corporation.

At the same time, while not conceding to foreign analogues, Russian drugs should remain affordable.

"It is necessary to move on to creating advanced products with radically new characteristics. To ensure that they are of high quality and reliable. We have all the possibilities for this. Including in terms of domestic medicines, <...> which you are actively involved in. This is especially important in oncology and other fields," Mishustin said.

He asked Chemezov to keep these initiatives under control and take care of their implementation.

"To ensure that Russian medicines and medical products are not inferior to the best foreign analogues, <...> there should be feedback from doctors, from clinicians. Of course, it is important that all these tools and funds are available to our citizens and help them restore their health," the head of government noted.

On July 8, the Government of the Russian Federation added 149 items to the list of strategically important medicines and preparations. It was noted in the order that all medicines from the list should have a full production cycle within the country, including with possible government support.

On April 27, Mishustin, approving a new list of strategically important medicines, noted that the document included drugs intended primarily for the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular and neurological pathologies, as well as to protect against dangerous infections.
