A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the air defense brigades in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 220 militants, an armored combat vehicle, 11 vehicles, a field artillery piece and an anti-aircraft missile system.

In addition, the Zapad group of forces has taken more advantageous positions and positions. The manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed formations were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Arkadevka, Chervony Oskol, Kharkiv region, Shchurovo and Svyatogorsk of the DPR. The enemy's losses amounted to over 220 militants.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces have advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses. They defeated the manpower and equipment of an assault, two amphibious assault brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade in the areas of settlements <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region, <...>..> Zaporozhye region. The enemy lost over 465 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated logistics centers, fuel, energy and transport infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, long-range drone storage sites, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 153 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down eight guided aerial bombs and 558 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed four unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 181,724 UAVs, 666 anti-aircraft missile systems, 30,163 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,758 multiple rocket launchers, 35,769 field artillery and mortars, 66,525 pieces of special vehicles.
